Beautiful Homemade Christmas Gifts for Toddlers

Homemade gifts are a great way to give your toddler a unique and meaningful gift this holiday season. I love giving gifts to others and thinking of something meaningful they will love and use for years to come. In this blog post, I have compiled some great ideas you can give as a toddler gift. The first few are Montessori-inspired, as that is something I am passionate about and the main focus of my blog. If you are new to the Montessori method or maybe have never heard of it, then you may find the first few suggestions a little unique. I promise you they will all be things your toddler will love! The other ideas are some of the best handmade gift ideas I could find that would be perfect for any toddler! Let’s jump right in!

Practical Life Cleaning Kit

Toddlers love to help and do whatever you are doing. Practical life activities like dusting, spraying, and scrubbing are all meaningful and engaging tasks for a young toddler. To be able to offer these activities to our children we need to prepare our environment for them to be able to contribute. You can assemble a toddler cleaning kit or just gather these supplies to have available throughout your home. I will leave links to the items that are great for a toddler cleaning kit. Many of these items you will likely be able to find cheaper at the store. I have found most of them at the dollar store! Simple homemade gifts like this are thoughtful and fun for a toddler to receive.

Playdough Kit

We all know that playdough bins at home can be overwhelming with too many things. This is a homemade gift kids will love. Get a photo album box or another similar small box. Buy or make some homemade playdough, it is super easy I promise. Check out this homemade playdough recipe with a cinnamon scent that will be perfect for the Christmas season! You can make playdough in different colors and make it scented or not.

I like to store playdough in these small condiment containers, which I found at the dollar store. Compile a few additional materials to make the playdough expereince more fun! A small rolling pin, cookie cutters, and seasonal press-ins are so fun for kids of all ages. You could wrap each thing in the box in tissue paper to make it even more special to open! This is my Thanksgiving-themed playdough kit, a Christmas one will be coming soon!

Family Lookbook

Toddlers love seeing real things and people. This homemade gift will be special and will have such a personal touch. Print one photo of each family member. Get a small photo album you can put all the pictures into. A family lookbook like this makes a great gift and I bet your toddlers will love to use their little fingers to move the pages and see all of their favorite people.

Sweeping Activity

If you don’t have a miniature broom for your toddler, I suggest you get one for them! Then you can offer this sweeping activity. Get a bag of pom-poms or make some homemade pom-poms. Then using electrical or masking tape, make a rectangle on the floor. Pour the pom poms onto the floor and show your toddler how to sweep them into the rectangle. You could add a small dustpan and broom for them to sweep and pick up the pom poms. Toddlers have lots of fun doing meaningful tasks like sweeping. A broom is a practical gift that can be made special with a few more touches to make it something they will remember.

DIY Kitchen Helper Kit

If you are looking for a DIY gift that isn’t crafty, consider getting your toddler a few tools that they can use to contribute more in the kitchen. My twins love to use their learner tower to help prepare snacks and meals. These opportunities are beneficial in developing fine motor skills. Get a basket and compile different tools for your toddler to use in the kitchen. Here are some of the tools my children have!
